Arguably the most compelling and beneficial aspect of using the open source blogging platform WordPress is the ability to install additional functionality to the platform by simply ‘plugging in’ features developed by 3rd party coders.
In plain English: There are 1000’s of little programs that are written to improve the experience and functionality of your blog. Snap one on, and you now have that feature. Most are free, some are not… and the list is constantly growing.
If you have a need for a function that you would like to have your site leverage, it has either already been written and it is just a matter of finding and adding it, or it can be developed for you by a capable programmer. The best part about this scenario is that you do not have to rely on the core platform of WordPress itself to improve, before you can improve your site.
We at the Real Estate Tomato have written (thanks to Jason Benesch) several exciting PlugIns that make our Agent and Broker Blogsites to most advanced and versatile in the industry.
Many of our custom PlugIns are the glue that bond the advanced features of sites, but others are exciting and utilitarian enough to describe and offer below. This list will continue to grow as we uncover new needs that a PlugIn can satisfy. Look for our announcements any time we do have a new launch.
